October is National Dental Hygiene Month. In honor of this occasion, we’d like to share some information on good oral health practices and let you know about our Gorgeous Grins program. At Dougherty Orthodontics, we believe that clean teeth should be rewarded!
National Dental Hygiene Month
National Dental Hygiene Month was established by the ADHA in order to raise awareness about the importance of oral health. Did you know that good oral hygiene practices are good for your overall health, not just your teeth? So take some time to review the “Daily 4” with your family:
- Brush twice a day (or three times a day, if you have braces).
- Floss daily (with super floss or floss threaders, if you have braces).
- Rinse with mouthwash.
- Chew sugar-free gum (but not if you have braces).
Remember: It’s really important to visit your dentist for cavity checks and cleanings every 6 months, especially during orthodontic treatment.
Gorgeous Grins Program at Dougherty Orthodontics
Because we care so much about good dental hygiene, we believe it should be rewarded. With our Gorgeous Grins program, we’ll track your dental cleanings and help remind you when it’s time to go back. You’ll get a Gorgeous Grins card to bring with you to the dentist. Have your hygienist fill it out, then bring it back to our office. Both you and your hygienist will be entered to win great prizes like gift cards, DVDs, or movie tickets!
More Fun Rewards and Discounts
On top of Gorgeous Grins, we also have raffles for our patients. This means more rewards! As a Dougherty Orthodontics patient, you’ll earn tickets for good brushing, being on time for your appointments, wearing your rubber bands, and not having any broken appliances. By simply cooperating during treatment, you’ll get the chance to earn prizes throughout the year. Plus, teachers and their families enjoy a 10% discount on orthodontic treatment with our Community Education Outreach program. Have a Happy Dental Hygiene Month, and remember to do the “Daily 4”! If you have any questions about National Dental Hygiene Month, Community Education Outreach, or the Gorgeous Grins program, please feel free to contact us.
